| Cinderella’s Trunk is a completely non profit organization with no paid volunteers. As such, you can rest assured that all money donated goes directly back to the community we are serving. Since our inception in April of 2000, over 11,000 young men and women have used our services to attend formal events. Please consider sending us a donation so that we may continue to help the Western Washington Community. Our Mission Formed in April of 2000 in Bothell, Washington, our entirely volunteer, non-profit organization strives to help meet the needs of local teens, women and men of all ages. We provide formal and semi-formal wear including dresses, tuxedos, suits, shoes, wraps, cosmetics and accessories for formal and semi-formal events such as school dances, proms, weddings and banquets. Most of the people who use our services would otherwise be unable to attend such events due to financial constraints. Our mission is to improve the self-esteem of our community. Our History When we first opened our doors we had just 14 dresses and a few pairs of shoes in the closet of a local Bothell church. Through the hard work and dedication of many volunteers and companies, Cinderella's Trunk has collected an inventory of around 1,500 formal and semi-formal dresses, and more than 100 tuxedos that are available for loan. Even with so many dresses and suits available, we still need donations. The number of people who visit Cinderella's Trunk continues to grow each year and fashion changes with the passing of the seasons. We don't like to have to turn someone away due to lack of formal wear so be sure to think of us when the time comes that you no longer need your formal wear. Our Program When people come to Cinderella's Trunk for formal wear we require a $50 deposit from students and a $75 deposit for adults. Once the borrowed items are returned, we return the deposit less a donated dry cleaning costs (suggested $10). Due to generous donations from businesses and our community we have dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, make-up, gloves, wraps and hosiery to offer those visiting Cinderella's Trunk. Hosiery and make-up need not be returned. It is our fundraisers that enable us to provide these services. 100% of the money we receive from our fundraisers goes straight back to Cinderella's Trunk (we have no paid staff.) Some of our fundraisers include various events held throughout the year such as the upcoming Tiara Tea Party in April.
